What does a normal day look like for you?
4:30am: I wake up early and drink a big glass of distilled water mixed with Apple Cider Vinegar, Sea Salt, followed up by a Mushroom Bulletproof Coffee and then a walk down to North Beach every morning, listening to a podcast to get my brain working.
6:00am: I start work early on Perth Fitfam (social media, web design, marketing) before the actual work day begins so I’m not disturbed and can get heaps done without distractions.
9:00am: Start my work day for True Protein & Fit College which consists of daily calls/contacts and meetings with over 300 businesses within the Perth fitness community.
12:00pm: My first meal for the day which is generally something high in fat, protein and fibre… no carbs 😉
12:00-5:00pm: On the road in meetings with local gyms, health food stores, and local fitness professionals and business owners.
5:00pm: I do a workout every day which is either Crossfit or some form of weights. Because of the nature of my job, I could be anywhere so just workout where I can fit it in.
7:00pm: Once I’m home, I cook up my second meal for the day which is high in protein and carbs to make sure I recover after my workout.
7:00-9:30pm: I try not to work after this and focus on spending quality time with my girlfriend and pug dog. We usually (always) spend time watching some standup or watch a replay of the Joe Rogan podcast.
Which artist do you relate to and why?
I actually relate to podcasters more so than artists as it’s my job to interview people and present on camera. The podcasters I most listen to are Joe Rogan, Aubrey Marcus, Tim Ferriss and Gary Vee.
What have been some high notes (highlights) in your journey?
Definitely meeting Arnold Schwarzenegger would be a highlight. I always seem to find myself in situations where I feel I have no business being in, but also just the whole opportunity to be the one connecting the Perth Fitness Scene and making an impact in this space.
What have been some low notes (challenges) in your journey?
Uncertainty for sure… anyone who has been involved in building a start-up company would know the struggle of finding a problem/solution fit and the struggles with success and finance along this journey.
When things get tough, which songs do you turn to for inspiration/motivation?
If I want something to switch off and take me for a journey, I can’t go past Tool. I’m looking forward to their catalogue being available on iTunes/Spotify later in the year.
How does music keep you motivated?
During the day, podcasts keep me motivated… during workouts, I’m a fan of Karnivool or Pendulum.
What fitness tips can you share?
Be consistent!!!! That’s the number one and only factor which will determine your success in fitness. There is not ONE training solution or diet which works best… nothing works unless you do. Find something you love to do and enjoy 🙂
What advice can you share for building an engaging account?
Again… be consistent!!! Establish your ‘voice & message’, find out what your audience wants to hear/see and be consistent. The size of your account is less important than the quality of your followers. Know your market and do you best to consistently provide value to that space.
What’s currently playing on your Spotify?
Karnivool, Birds of Tokyo, Pendulum, Knife Party.
