What does a normal day look like for you?
I usually wake up and SCREAM with anticipation and joy at what may happen in the next 24 hours. Then COFFEE!! Any type, anyhow; I am not a coffee snob; I’m a coffee slut! Barista, brewed, boiled, instant, freeze dried, granulated… WHAT-EVEEEER! I love it. Then I go to the beach and jump in the ocean waves, then out for a workout on the Bondi Beach bars listening to choice choones on my Audiofly music brain plugs! Then home and take my daughters to school, then to the gym and beach again. Then collect my daughters from school, go home and take my wife Emma out for dinner. Then home and crash!
Which artist do you relate to and why?
The Jamaican rapper “Rapwolf” because he’s raw and rough, but also sharp and tight with everything he does while having fun!
What have been some high notes (highlights) in your journey?
A sure highlight was breaking the Guinness World Records for Rope Climb, Weighted Chin Ups and Supinated Muscle Ups!
What have been some low notes (challenges) in your journey?
I try to focus fastidiously on the positives – so it’s all been sweet candy and roses, apart from a silly parkour crash last year which put my leg in one of those wonky orthopaedic boots for 8 weeks during summer…. I had to call a WHAAAAMBULANCE!
How does music keep you motivated?
Oh ah, the beats, the rhythm, the melody; they hype me up and crank me out to push and exceed and excel and give everything !
When things get tough, which songs do you turn to for inspiration/motivation?
“Born To Be Alive” by Patrick Hernandez & ATOMIC by BLONDIE & anything by Public Enemy or Schubert or Bad Brains or Beastie Boys!
What fitness tips can you share?
Be consistent, listen to your body, every rep is a win for you that no one can denigrate! YOU WIN! No matter what your age, height, body shape, hair colour or whatever, you will become stronger and happier and healthier if you exercise regularly! AND YOU WILL WIN!
What advice can you give for those interested in being a fitness trainer?
Try everything, find what you are good at, and like and create a niche that you love and the rest will follow, and you will be happy!
What’s currently playing on your Spotify?
Thanks to my schmicko Audiofly beat busters – I’m loving The Presets & Empire of the Sun & Chaim!
